Artist Statement

My approach to my work concerns with the inner working of the inner self that go against rational approach to the use of materials that ends up in resulting with mixed media experimentation that ranges from drawing, painting and sculpture.

Much of my recent progress led me to incorporate natural and man-made objects into paintings, using traditional oils and acrylics, to a more sculptural approach within a two dimentional space inspired by experimental drawings. These semi-sculptural paintings and drawings derive from the theme of the inner self. It ranges in the form of wonderment within out dreams, the persistence of memory that is fleeting or fluctuating to unrealities that dont exist within the rational world. Much of my work goes through the through of trying to understand the inner working of my own individuality, by doing that I try to use unconventional objects in unconventional ways that allow me to explore different possibilities through different surfaces and materials.

Artist such as James Turrell and Yayoi Kusama have led me to this way of thinking. There artists will fill whole spaces with light and patters that transport the viewer into another world that is their inner mind that defies human rationality, making it a completely unforgetable experience.

My art will continue to progress this way of expression and find itself in different forms. Concentrating on the uncertainty of human understanding and showing that within any sort of visual medium can have a connection with the inner self. I aim to exploit the theme of irrationality within the rational world.
